We are very excited to have Sean come speak to us out of Nehemiah on love, action, and leadership! Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Sean came to the University of Texas at Austin trying to figure out who he was. While in college, he became a follower of Jesus through an InterVarsity chapter serving Black students, and his life has never been the same. A year after graduating in 2004 with a B.A. in African-American Studies and History, Sean came on staff with InterVarsity. Currently he serves as Regional Black Campus Ministries Coordinator where he works to develop ministry to reach Black college students in Texas, Arkansas and Oklahoma. Sean is also on the Leading Servants Team, InterVarsity’s BCM National Leadership Team and is pursuing his Masters of Divinity at Fuller Seminary. He is a big comic book and sci-fi fan and enjoys working out, poetry, cooking and movies. For more information about Sean, visit his blog: www.smwatkins.com.
Featuring the Urbana15 Worship Team
This year we are also excited that Erna Hackett and the Urbana15 Worship Team will be joining us at Winter Conference! Erna is a Seattle native, but has spent the last 20 years in Los Angeles where she attended Scripps College and majored in American Studies. She has been working with InterVarsity for about 15 years, which has included training worship leaders since 2000, particularly with an eye to multi-ethnic worship. She and her husband currently live in Portland, OR. Want to know more about Erna? She blogs her thoughts at feistythoughts.com and shares her music at erna.me.
Plan to arrive between 4-7:30pm. Park temporarily on Columbia Blvd. Register for the conference first at the InterVarsity registration table (pick up name tag & conference folder). Then check in at the hotel lobby registration to receive room assignment & room key. Move your car from Columbia Blvd into the parking garage. Bring luggage into your hotel room. Plan to eat dinner before the music begins @ 7:45pm.
We will be staying at the Hilton Hotel in Vancouver, WA. All bedding and towels are provided. Conference fees are based on 4 people per room. Single or double occupancy may be requested for additional fee.
Conference fees include continental breakfasts on Sat. & Sun. only. There are a number of fast food options and restaurants near the hotel for you to purchase lunches and dinners.
